Re-Elect Erin Skaar to Tillamook County Commissioner Position #1
As a nonprofit leader and county commissioner, Erin Skaar has proven she is the right choice to keep making progress on the challenges we face.
Erin grew up in rural Oregon. Her parents owned a small motel and restaurant where she worked behind the counter as a teenager. She graduated from Occidental College and took a job managing at-risk youth as they planted trees, removed non-native species, and other outdoor work - beginning her life-long commitment to serving the community.
When her husband, Jim, was offered a position in Tillamook, they moved to the community in 2003 and have lived here ever since. She took on leadership positions at local nonprofits, including Tides of Change helping victims of intimate partner violence. Later she became the executive director of CARE, helping serve at-risk renters, people experiencing homelessness, first-time parents and others in need. She also gave back to the community as founding member of the Tillamook County Housing Task Force and by serving on the boards of Kiwanis, United Way, Adventist Health and the Tillamook Early Learning Center.
Erin has a proven record of serving Tillamook County.
